Pesto for One Guestpost

When I was younger, my bestest friends and I were very close.  Proximity-wise, that is.  Now that I’m all grown up, I find that most of my favorite people have a tendency to live in another country.  Granted, that may partially be my fault.  But in the age of skype, facebook and email we’re never really that far apart 🙂

My friend Denny is an adorable, funny, talented, hot mess. I say that with love.  I get great vicarious drama through him.  And as an aspiring artist, writer and Romeo working part-time at a comic book store in Penn State’s backyard, he’s got drama in spades.  He’s also got a killer pesto recipe.

“If there’s one thing I love more than comics, it’s probably food. Combining the two seems like the best of both worlds. This pesto recipe is one of my favorites and the comic gives you a little history about where I learned it. I grew up in an Irish-Italian household that served noodles exclusively with red sauce. The first time I had pesto, when I was 22, I was blown away and had to learn to make it myself. It’s one of the dishes that helped inspire me to cook more often and try new and different meals. I hope you enjoy the comic and hopefully the meal too!”

Pesto for One is a excerpt from Denny’s upcoming comic set to be released in late summer.
