Kiwi n’ Ginger

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or because every day in Cayman is pretty much the same, but I just cannot get over it being November already. Β Cheap ornaments and tinsel are now on sale at the grocery store and I peeped crews putting Christmas lights up in one of the island’s roundabouts last night! Remembrance Day and the annual Festival of Trees are just around the corner. Before you know it, the holidays will have come and gone and we’ll all get hurled at rocket speed into 2012.

I don’t know about you, but all that rushing makes me need a nap.

Let’s slow things down a bit, shall we?

Kiwi n’ Ginger

2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
2 oz fresh muddled kiwi
Ginger beer

  • Shake juice and fruit in glass with ice
  • Pour into serving glass

This drink is Clark Kent approved.

  5. I can exchange my life with you anytime… πŸ˜‰ I want to be in warm weather… now that's my age talking. I need a nap, a looooong one. Then I want to have this drink at the beach. Sounds perfect. =)

  6. I could seriously use a moment of sit back and relax! The holidays are being squished by my step sisters wedding and other things going on and Im already seeing new gray hairs for it. Love the sound of kiwi and ginger in a sippable drink.

  7. Kiwi and Ginger sounds absolutely delicious and refreshing!

  8. Ginger beer is the best! I fell in love with Moscow Mules this summer.

I know… Christmas decorations are up in the malls already! Crazy uh?? And I never get into “Christmas mood” since moving to Oz… it's 30C and almost summer down here! SIGH!

  13. It goes very fast after Halloween…and the Christmas music is already 24-7 on the radio before Thanksgiving! I wish everyone would not rush through the holidays as well!

  14. I thought muddling only existed in Harry Potter books until I read this post. Now I know the actual term for what I've been doing with my fruits all this time! Yes, this year has flown by so quickly, hasn't it? I want to stay in 2011 a bit longer (ie. in my current age) so I'm having plenty of this lovely drink to help slow things down :).

  15. Oh yeah, let's slow it down and drink lots of these. Chillaxin at it's best!!!

  16. Wow this sounds refreshing. I've never had Ginger Beer. What name does it go under or can you find it just labeled Ginger Beer.

I've been running around all weekend prepping for umpteen Gingerbread House making classes that I teach this time of the year. The stores – all of them – were mobbed. I'd start early and by noon be exhausted and have to go home. I know exactly what you mean. This would certainly relax you a bit. Sounds yummy!

  17. I certainly need one now!

  18. That looks good–so refreshing!

  19. Wow that sounds delicious. Time goes so fast, these days….I admit I'm part of the problem, rushing to put up Christmas decorations and decorate cookies, by the time it's actually time to celebrate, I'm usually exhausted! Thank you for the reminder to slow it down..and a wonderful recipe to go with that. Delicious!

  20. I know what you mean…here in south Florida I have similar issues…or is it because I'm getting older? πŸ™‚ I have muddled my share of mint for mojitos and mint juleps, never muddled a kiwi before…looking forward to it! πŸ™‚

  21. What a refreshing tropical drink! Love it. Have I mentioned how jealous I am that you live in Cayman??? πŸ˜€

  22. That drink looks so refreshing…but is it really refreshing? Or am I just lured in by the beautiful scenery in the background…or maybe it's Clark Kent's sunglasses! Somehow I just don't think this will taste the same as I'm sipping it on my deck looking at all the leaves I have to rake up in my yard! LOL. When are you going to hold a blogger meet and greet at your house? I'm pretty sure we can all make it! ;- }

  23. I don't think I'd ever leave the Caymans if you welcomed me with one of these delicious cocktails! Amazing!

  24. I can sure go for one of these right now!

  25. That's our idea of slowing down. A fabulous relaxing cocktail! Besides, that's got to be good for you since papaya's loaded with vitamins A and C. Right?

  26. Wanted to let you know that I sent an award your way!

  43. Simply refreshing. No I do not like rocket speed, it is so hectic sometimes that blinking your eyes seems like such a waste of time!
I could use some island time without a watch, but for now I guess the drink will have to do. Have a great weekend.

  44. And CK is sans beard! πŸ™‚
These look delicious. Perfect for a Cayman day. And yes, my world spins quite quickly, too…Christmas decor already??
