Cold (Weather) Comfort

Sometimes I miss cold weather food.  Fondue.  Chicken pot pie.  Mulled wine. They aren’t the same when it’s 90 degrees outside. However, since most of my buds in the US were digging out of a surprise snowstorm last weekend, the food blogs took the chilly temps as an opportunity to whip up some lovely snow day comfort food.  Meaghan over at Clutzy Cooking – besides having awesome taste in crockery – sold me on attempting a cold weather dish with her Beef and Mushroom Stew.

That bowl was empty 4 minutes later.  Nom nom nom.

I think I would miss my mom's chicken pot pie the most if I lived in a warm weather place. Her pot pie just isn't the same if it's not freezing outside.

  6. Wow, delicious looking stew. No wonder it took 4 minutes to disappear!

  7. Great looking stew! Surprisingly enough, I haven't made chicken pot pie yet this winter. I'll have to get on that soon!
